Omarion - Ollusion

Reviewed by Mimo - January 12th 2010

Four years after "21", Omarion gives us "Ollusion". And guess what? This is the -- Quick 'n Dirty -- review!

"21" was a great album from the former B2K member with a sick list of producers ranging from The Underdogs to Timbaland that all delivered fireworks. Yes it's an album that produced some big hits (like 'Ice Box') that we (atleast) won't forget very soon. So you could say Omarion has some big shoes to fill. But hey he's had four years to come up with something better or as good right?

Ehmm.. not exactly. While the album contains some pretty nice material like 'Last Night' (that reminds us of something on "21") and 'I Get It In' (prod. by Tank), we have to admit that this album doesn't come close to its predecessor.

This has several reasons, ranging from the level of production -- which is not even in the same league as "21" -- to it's more urban/hiphop sound that doesn't really suit Omarion.

We feel Omarion lost some of his R&B roots with "Ollusion", not that it's awful or anything just not as good as his former work. If you're a fan you won't care what we say but if you want a recommendation: buy the two mentioned tracks off of iTunes and forget about the rest of the album.

Omarion's "Ollusion" in stores January 12th 2010.
